Under general direction, to plan, organize, direct, coordinate and evaluate the central administrative functions and/or staff, of a large County department. This is an executive management position responsible for financial, budgetary, human resources, information systems and general administrative functions.
Specifically, this recruitment is for the Administrative Services Manager (ASM) III position in the Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency (CEPA). This Executive Leadership position reports directly to the Director of CEPA. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the Agency's central administrative functions and business service’s needs. Implement administrative policies and procedures and oversee the day-to-day operations of the areas of responsibility, including supervising administrative, technical, and secretarial staff.
The Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency:
The Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency (CEPA) enforces State and local laws and ordinances related to pesticide use, agriculture production, equity in the marketplace, animals, weed abatement, recycling and waste diversion, and environmental protection of area waterways. Divisions include Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, Animal Services including Animal Control, Clean Water, Recycling & Waste Reduction, Vector Control, and Weed Abatement. The Agency employs 137 FTE in six separate locations and has a Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget of about $38 million.

Considerable education and managerial level experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the typical management responsibilities and the possession an application of the following knowledge and abilities.
Experience Note: A qualified candidate would typically possess education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration or related field and four (4) years' experience directing administrative or support services organization, such as accounting, budgeting, finance, human resources, general services, technology or other centralized administrative function consisting of a wide variety of activities of moderate scope and complexity, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
