The Council on Aging for Henderson County is Hiring a Community Dining Site Manager Near Hendersonville, NC

POSITION TITLE: Community Dining Site Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Part-time, Monday through Friday, 5-6 hours per day (25-29 hours per week). Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Community Nutrition Site Manager shall have responsibility for the management of the Community Dining Center. S/He must work to ensure that the activities and services of the Community Dining site are provided appropriately an in accordance with established policies (including NCDAAS and Nutrition Service Standards).

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Establish and maintain an inviting atmosphere which makes all participants feel welcomed.

2. Organize monthly activities, prepare monthly schedule, and post current calendar of events. Oversee programs and services in response to interest of participants (area of programming should include education, recreation, nutrition, and total health of seniors).

3. Maintain daily attendance sheets for members and guests.

4. Supervise volunteers and coordinate their schedules with the volunteer coordinator.

5. Complete data entry for daily client meals and activities and monthly volunteer hours contributed.

6. Process consumer financial contributions daily. Deliver to the Director of Operations for reconciliation weekly.

7. Ensure that kitchen and serving area follow state codes, posting all required compliance documentation.

8. Record and track the number/type of meals received as well as the time and temperature they are received and served.

9. In the event of inclement weather contact Carolina Village and Apple Country Transportation to ensure they are aware of the Community Dining Center closure.

10. Actively participate in required agency meetings, fundraisers, and other events. (Please note that any required events outside of normal working hours will be cause for compensation).

11. Complete initial and annual client assessments in coordination with the Nutrition Program Manager.

12. Compile weekly menus to post at the dining site and for posting on website.

13. Monitor inventory and inform purchasing person when supplies need to be ordered.

14. Ensure floors and bathrooms are tidy and spot clean as necessary.

15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or the Executive Director.

16. Adjust the recommended grant-funded client contribution, as well as the required contribution for unfunded clients.

17. Track supply and equipment purchases using annual program budget.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

2. Must be physically able to lift containers for received from Carolina Village.

3. Must have good written and oral communication skills.

4. Must be well organized.

5. Positive attitude and the ability to handle the unexpected in a calm manner.

6. Must produce and maintain accurate and professional written records and reports.

7. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.

8. Must schedule time-off in advance with Director of Operations to ensure there is no interruption of service to clients.

9. Must be proficient in planning, prioritizing, and managing work responsibilities.

10. Must be willing to comply with Council on Aging Employee Handbook and other policies and procedures of the agency.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
