The Corvallis Clinic Surgery Center Director isresponsible for the successful management and daily operations of the SurgicalCenter. Provides physicians with all theresources and services necessary to meet the needs of patients and meet thefinancial and clinical objectives of the organization.
1. Will participate and maintain a culturewithin The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in theService and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, andembrace the principles contained within. 2. Accountable to theGoverning Body and responsible for implementing initiatives determined by theGoverning Body. 3. Manages surgery center resources in afiscally responsible manner and in accordance with established annual budget. 4. Creates an environment conducive to growthin connection with The Corvallis Clinic. 5. Develops properclinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality. 6. Develops appropriateadmission and discharge procedures also assuring that pre-admission criteriaare appropriately met. 7. Researches andprepares cost reduction and revenue enhancement proposals and implements themas applicable. 8. Evaluates ongoingpatient care and reports significant patient problems to appropriate individualsor committees. 9. Collaborates withHuman Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication tostaff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations. 10. Serves as resourceand role model for staff. 11. Plans, evaluates, recommends,and implements new initiatives when appropriate. 12. Selects and hiresemployees according to established guidelines, monitors, coaches, develop andevaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicableperformance standards. 13. Assures compliancewith all policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to: a) Controlledsubstances b) InfectionControl c) PatientConfidentiality d) CPR,ACLS, safety and risk management in collaboration with Clinic RN Educator andHuman Resources e) QualityImprovement and Quality Assurance f) Emergency Codes and evacuation g) ProfessionalLicensure h) CMSregulatory requirements 14. Establishesand maintains effective working relationships with vendors, employees, managers,and physicians. 15. Assistswith the development of patient education material. 16. Supportsand promotes a positive image of The Corvallis Clinic and The Corvallis ClinicSurgery Center when dealing with patients and others inside and outside theorganization. 17. Monitorspatient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaintsand service issues. 18. UtilizeAmbulatory Surgery Center key metrics and benchmarks to drive best practices atthe center. 19. Performsother duties as assigned, assisting in all areas as needed to balance workloadand assure proper patient care.
1. One of the followingis required: 2. Direct experience with State and Federal regulationsand ambulatory surgery center accreditation agencies highly desirable.
1. Abilityto read and communicate effectively. Proficient in the use of personalcomputers, ability to multitask, problem solve, meet deadlines, adapt tochanging priorities and situations and demonstrate excellent organizationalskills. 2. Strongverbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented andorganized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.Must be able to exercise good judgement and positively influence and leadothers, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. 3. Knowledgeof state-specific and federal healthcare regulations and standards as thesepertain to the clinical areas within an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Familiarwith achieving and maintaining facility licensure, certifications, andaccreditations of regulatory and accreditation organizations. 4. Abilityto respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatoryagencies. Ability to effectively present information to administrativeleadership and medical committees as required.
