The Corvallis Clinic Surgery Center is Hiring a RN - Circulating, Operating Room, Surgery Center Near Corvallis, OR

Compensation: $40.50 - $60.80 per hour, based on years of experience

Summary: 

Provides safe, quality patient care in theIntraoperative area. Accountable for theassessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care duringintraoperative period.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Will participate and maintain a culture withinThe Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in theService and Behavioral Standards as stated in the Policy and Procedures. To this end, employee will be expected toread, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.

2. Assesses patient status during pre-op interview,and on a continuing basis.

3. Provides safe, therapeutic quality care topatients by utilizing the nursing process and nursing diagnosis in a timelymanner and by setting appropriate priorities. Documents interventions and patient’s responses.

4. Ensures provision of patient care in anorganized and timely manner.

5. Utilizes nursing care standards when planningand implementing patient care.

6. Communicates appropriate information regardingpatient conditions to those who require the information including, surgeons,anesthesia, management and other staff.

7. Safely carries out physician’s orders correctlyand promptly, documenting all activities.

8. Assist Anesthesia staff as needed.

9. Displays an understanding of each patient’scognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturity in assessments,treatment and care.

10. Participate in the orientation and training ofnew employees.

11. Maintains competencies to function in RN rolewithin specific area.

12. Protect sedated and anesthetized patients byidentifying safety hazards such as electrical, equipment, pressure points andby minimizing exposure to maintain privacy and body temperature.

13. Expertise in safety principles, asepsis, steriletechnique and universal precautions.

14. Assesses, anticipates and implements appropriatecare throughout the surgical process.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Licensure/Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of registerednursing
  • Current unencumbered State of Oregon license asa Registered Nurse
  • Current CPR certification, ACLS or ability toobtain ACLS within six (6) months of hire date
  • Minimum of one year OR experience;multispecialty preferred; CNOR preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in an acute carehospital; preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • PALS certification, preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to manage emergency situations in a calmand confident manner
  • Demonstrated flexibility and leadership withunscheduled procedure changes
  • Organize, prioritize, delegate and assign dutiesto non-licensed personnel
  • Maintain skills in equipment usage andtroubleshooting
  • Complete knowledge and understanding ofperi-operative nursing care in the freestanding ambulatory surgery center
  • Evidence of working knowledge of the nursing process
  • Knowledge of basic clinical skills to providepatient care
  • Ability to work well with providers, clinicalstaff and patients
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneouslyin a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, includingbut not limited to standards for confidentiality, Infection Control, Safety(OSHA), Attendance, Personal Electronic Equipment, Punctuality and PersonalAppearance.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activitiesincluding identification of opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies.
