The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, the ability to manage a crew, operate heavy equipment, and oversee the successful execution of construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring that our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Crew Management: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a crew of 4-5 workers. Ensure that all crew members adhere to safety protocols and project timelines. Provide on-site training and mentorship to crew members.
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of heavy machinery including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, and loaders. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety.
- Project Execution: Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications. Oversee the layout and setup of construction sites. Ensure that all work is completed according to design specifications and quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise.
- Site Layout and Planning: Conduct site surveys and layout tasks to ensure accurate construction. Utilize knowledge in civil construction to plan and execute project phases efficiently. Experience in GPS and Surveying required.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets specifications and quality standards. Implement corrective actions when necessary to address any deficiencies.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. Conduct safety meetings and ensure that all crew members use appropriate protective gear and follow safety procedures.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the heavy construction industry.
- Proven experience managing a crew of construction workers.
- Proficient in operating various types of heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in civil construction, including site layout and surveying.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record. CDL is preferred.
- OSHA certification or similar safety training is preferred.
