Full Job Description
The Contractor Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper Controller to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, conducting internal audits, and supporting our operations processes. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, experience with financial software, and the ability to contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Applied Epic).
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and other internal/external financial reports.
  • Prepare and submit tax documents and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess the accuracy and integrity of financial records and processes.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support the continued development of the company's accounting policies and procedures, making the accounting process more efficient.
  • Respond to inquiries from the finance team leadership and company managers.
  • Take ownership of your work and proactively explore opportunities to add value to your role. We encourage continuous improvement and support your drive for personal and professional growth.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with team members, fostering a cooperative environment where clients and assistants are kept well-informed of account status, new developments, and pending deadlines.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 4 years of experience in general accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax regulations, and working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience with Financial Statements, Bookkeeping, and accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are highly required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment by gathering and processing information quickly and accurately, allowing you to make responsive and timely decisions and recommendations.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is highly preferred.
  • Bonus points for proficiency in Epic/Applied Management system or similar systems.
