SUMMARY
Gann Academy seeks a Teaching Fellow to primarily serve as the building substitute teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This person would be the on-call substitute for teaching faculty who must miss one or more classes any day. Some days, this person would cover up to five courses in one day, and others, it would be fewer. Additionally, this person would be responsible for proctoring extended time on assessments up to twice a day. The role requires arriving at Gann no later than 8:10 each day in the event copies of materials must be made for teachers who are out. The workday ends for a fellow most days at 3:55, but when afternoon test proctoring is required, the day will extend to 5:05 PM.
Though this role primarily involves covering classes, there will be opportunities to be involved in all aspects of life at Gann, including (but not limited to) observing classes, getting involved in Jewish Life programming, the school library, the Admissions Office, and Marketing department as needed, assisting with various systems and projects. On days when coverage needs are light, the Fellow may be directed to assist in specific administrative tasks such as helping the Jewish Life team prepare for a particular event, helping Admissions staff prepare materials related to their work, or helping the librarian reshelve books in the library.
This is a 10-month, full-time, non-exempt position.

Physical demands include dexterity for office machine/supply operation, including but not limited to computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers. Stooping, bending, lifting objects, reaching for files or supplies, and sitting or standing for extended periods are common.
