Description

Position: Data Specialist/System Developer 1

Program: MIS Department

Location: Middletown

Salary: $60,000-65,000/year

Schedule: Full time, 40 hours, 1st shift, Monday-Friday (This is a hybrid position and is 90% remote.)

Department Summary: Working within Administrative Services, the Data Specialist/System Developer 1 is part of the Information Technology team that supports smooth operations for agency programs across the state. The Connection provides essential services to people in need of assistance for homelessness, substance use treatment, behavioral healthcare, and returning to communities after incarceration.

Position Summary:

The Data Specialist/System Developer 1 is responsible for providing data support to our clients both internal and external. Collating and verifying data from multiple sources. Development, maintenance and documentation of computer programs, applications, and reports for internal and external customers. In addition:

  • Create and edit complex SQL queries, stored procedures and functions
  • Conduct a thorough data analysis of systems
  • Recreate/modify existing data transfer systems for exporting to external sources
  • Design database structures for new systems
  • Develop reports and dashboards for internal and external customers including our SHF programs
  • Test developed applications against business needs
  • Install applications in the production environment
  • Produce appropriate technical and business documentation for developed applications
  • Schedule and monitor the production of periodic files/reports for outside organizations and regulatory agencies
  • Develop interface programs between multiple platforms and systems
  • Provides end user support on developed applications
  • Collaborates with other System Developers and Director of MIS on techniques and languages
  • Working knowledge of NextGen EHR and PM a plus

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related experience developing software
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required for this hybrid position

Orientation:

If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
