Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of Casino Controller, the Accounting Clerk performs a variety of clerical accounting duties andany other duties not necessary of accounting nature but essential to the operation of the hotel.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process invoices to be paid, including research, code, and data entry.
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
  • Print checks and compile with proper documentation.
  • Prepare check list of weekly checks that are ready for signature.
  • Obtain signature of checks.
  • Mail checks to vendors.
  • Reconcile monthly statements from vendors.
  • Prepare annually 480.6B statements and other governmental reporting documentation related to payables.
  • Handle billing/collection activities; check backup paperwork for accuracy and prepare invoices for submittal.
  • Reconcile accounts by checking computer reports and researching discrepancies.
  • Prepare/send “reminder” letters for delinquent accounts.
  • Mail invoices to vendors.
  • Call delinquent customers as necessary.
  • File paid invoices, check stub and backup paperwork.
  • Enter payment information into log; note partial payments.
  • Enters the time and attendance reports into the computer for each employee based on information submitted bysupervisors.
  • Verifies the availability of leave time for staff prior to reporting usage on payroll reports.
  • Prepares payroll sheets and leave time reports for supervisors.
  • Enters holidays, vacations and sick leave used by employees into computer.
  • Prepares weekly payroll recap reflecting hours worked and leave time used for verification by Managers.Obtain signature of employee checks.
  • Distributes payroll checks to department supervisors; ensure receipts are verified.
  • Inputs any salary changes or termination of employee into system.
  • Complete, verify and process forms and documentations for administration of benefits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate level degree or Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Accounting standard and bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Understanding and following oral and written instructions and directions.
  • Prioritizing and organizing a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
