At a Glance:

• Starting rate: $22
• Bonus Incentives for: Permanent full-time staff $1000 New Hire Bonus and $1000 Retention Bonus
• Nine-hour shift (programming hours: 7:00am-5:30pm)
• Designated one-hour break.
• Trainings for professional development are compensated to employees.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Be the guardian of our little ones’ well-being, ensuring their health and safety while they explore the wonders of our classroom environment.
• Lead with compassion, guiding and training aides, volunteers, and interns to create a nurturing classroom atmosphere;
• Collaborate closely with our age-level leads to craft age-appropriate daily activities, establish engaging routines, and design a captivating classroom space;
• Embrace the joy of learning and play as you conduct daily activities, hand-pick stimulating materials, and encourage meaningful interactions between our curious learners;
• Cater to every child's emotional, intellectual, and nutritional needs, and should you ever encounter challenges, lean on the Program Director for support in the referral process.;
• Build trustful connections with each child, using your keen eye to recognize any signs of emotional, developmental, or physical concerns, which you'll report to the team and support with targeted interventions;
• Nurture strong partnerships with parents, offering insights on child development matters, and holding yearly conferences to discuss the progress, development, and finances of each individual child and their family;
• Keep the lines of communication open with parents, sharing daily updates on children's activities, and enforcing Center policies with care and understanding when needed;
• Observe children's progress regularly, share observations with the Curriculum team. Craft comprehensive progress reports every six months (three months for our infant classrooms).
• Foster a positive learning and work environment, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure a fulfilling experience for everyone involved;
• Attend staff meetings, parent functions and advisory meetings, and compensated in-service trainings;
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

• Uphold a passionate belief in The Community Group's mission, values, and educational model;
• Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Lead Teacher Certification
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field,
• Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred;
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus; ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills; and
• Completed CORI, SORI and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care.
• Ability to demonstrate skills in collaborative planning and problem-solving
• Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and experience with the implementation of developmentally appropriate strategies
