The Community Group is Hiring a Center Director (Infant/Toddler, Toddler or Preschool) Near Lawrence, MA

The Director will work support with the day-to-day management of a Community Day Early Learning Program. The Director will report to the Director of Early Learning Programs and will provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to early education staff and Program Managers (center leaders). This role is full-time and exempt.

Responsibilities:

● Develop, implement and maintain high-quality early learning programs that align with educational standards and best practices.

● Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

● Provide overall support and management to the program in regards to hiring, staffing, curriculum, adherence to organization policies, initiatives and family communications.

● Support with plans for coverage at the program; including providing coverage for educators and program managers as needed.

● Conduct interviews, hire new employees, and onboard new employees.

● Create and/or maintain systems to track and execute Early Education & Care (EEC) licensing, Pyramid Model and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) requirements.

● Support Program Manager(s) with EEC Licensing and NAEYC Accreditation expectations in accordance with regulatory standards.

● Ensure completion of all required reporting and record keeping including staff and child files.

● Collaborate with Department of Children & Families (DCF) caseworkers and child support therapists, as needed.

● Maintain compliance with all EEC licensing regulations.

● Provide ongoing support to Program Manager(s) on all things related to program quality and daily operations.

● Supervise, train and coach Program Manager(s) in relation to classroom quality and curriculum implementation and instruction.

● Support Program Manager(s) with the creation and/or maintenance of systems and processes.

● Directly supervise classroom staff.

● Conduct classroom observations daily to ensure compliance and to help develop efficient systems for maintaining compliance and organization quality standards.

● Conduct classroom observations to support implementation of Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) outcomes and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals, identify children in need of additional support or referrals, and provide general support to teaching teams to promote best practices for inclusion.

● Review IFSP and IEP documentation to ensure curriculum modifications and learning environments are appropriate for individual children in each classroom; provide coaching and support as needed for teaching teams to promote inclusive practices.

● Lead and/or support with training for staff members.

● Facilitate staff meetings with staff members.

● Coach educators on all other aspects of program initiatives and pertinent coachable items to support educator growth and high-quality teaching and learning practices.

● Design, implement, and oversee programs that support educators in their professional development.

● Develop and maintain an educator mentorship/coaching program for new employees to establish a culture of belonging from the start.

● Ensure that educator supports comply with relevant policies and guidelines.

● Connect with parents/families to provide regular program information, community resources and/or address child behavior concerns.

● Collaborate with Program Manager(s) to manage family communications and family engagement events.

● Provide supervision, guidance and management to the family liaison.

● Support the family liaison in creating effective working systems and processes that promote family growth and stability (resources, referrals, support, etc.)

● All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

● Master's/Bachelor’s degree is required.

● Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.

● A minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

● Experience working with community-based programs.

● Experience managing other adults, both directly and indirectly.

● Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.

● Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.

● Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and community members.

● Knowledge of EEC regulations and Learning Standards and Curriculum Guidelines.

● Willingness to learn about children’s growth and development.

● In-depth knowledge of current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field of education.

● Ability to prioritize and take initiative.

● Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

● Strong information technology skills and demonstrated expertise in a variety of word processing, desktop publishing, graphics, spreadsheet, and database software. These may include but are not limited to: MS Word, Excel; Google GSuite programs; Adobe and other databases/programs.

● An eagerness to learn new skills and take on new projects.

Requirements

● Must possess the qualifications required for their positions in accordance with EEC regulations (TI/T, T PS, DII).

● Must complete CORI, SORI and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care prior to employment.

● Evidence of physical examination within one year prior to employment.

● Evidence of immunizations against Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

● Maintain current infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification.

● Ability to stand for prolonged periods and frequent bending.

● Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
