The Community Blood Center is Hiring a Manager, Mobile Collection Operations Near Appleton, WI

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager of Mobile Collection Operations plans and manages all mobile blood collection functions to include relevant automated and whole blood collections. Responsible for aspects of mobile donor collections including ensuring appropriate staffing, compliance, operations, staff and donor safety and process improvement. Ensures donors and sponsors have an exceptional customer experience. Ultimately accountable for ensuring operations occur in a manner that is compliant with all applicable regulations and standards. Responsible for the development of staff members and the creation of an environment of continuous improvement that results in an engaged staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for oversight of the activities of mobile Collections staff and ensuring a positive experience for blood donors and team members. Oversight consists of establishing and monitoring performance and behavior expectations, correcting, improving and updating all technical, regulatory, administrative, and personnel functions related to mobile operations.
  • Responsible for accomplishment of key department objectives including assigned goals, operational productivity targets, staffing levels, compliance measures and staff engagement metrics.
  • Creates, validates and trains processes and procedures within areas of responsibility that are designed to achieve objectives of the department, compliance with all applicable regulations and attain an exceptional donor, sponsor and staff experience.
  • Responds to and resolves deviations from procedures and a timely and effective fashion, collaborating with colleagues as appropriate.
  • Collaborates and communicates with colleagues in recruitment to ensure achievement of drive and department goals including whole blood, automation, first time donor and donor retention targets.
  • Foster an environment where staff growth, development, and training are fostered. Promote and develop a productive and engaged working environment within areas of oversight and among other organizational leaders and staff.
  • Ensures software and equipment used in the collections operations functions is maintained in a compliant manner and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Takes an active role to ensure ongoing compliance with quality and compliance functions, documentation and industry regulations. Stays current on changing regulations and impact to areas of oversight.
  • Actively manages the department budget to ensure staff have the tools and equipment needed while meeting and/or exceeding budgetary expectations.
  • Evaluates data related to area of oversight (including productivity, quality, department targets) to identify trends and drive process improvement by working through others.
  • Ensures the evaluation of donor concerns, compliments and complaints, especially regarding post donation injuries, are handled in a timely and positive manner.
  • Ensures adequate staffing to accomplish CBC goals and directives. Ensures appropriate staff are trained, competent, retained and available to accomplish daily work.
  • Evaluate new processes and procedures in areas of oversight. Assists with maintaining SOPs necessary to meet requirements of the FDA, AABB, and other regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years management experience required.
  • Medical background or previous blood center experience desired.
