The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine... is Hiring a Food Service Worker Near Springfield, PA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures.
  • Review menus prior to preparation of food.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
  • Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
  • Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
  • Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to assure resident’s rights are protected.
  • Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
  • Attend and participate in in-service training and meetings as directed.
  • Assure that the department is maintained on a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties/services.
  • Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
  • Assure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • He/she shall demonstrate the ability to work with other staff members and with the residents.
  • He/she shall be aware of emergency evacuation procedures for Divine Providence Village and duties involved.
  • He/she shall maintain a flexible work schedule including early shift, late shift, weekends and holidays.
  • He/she will be responsible for any other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the administration.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • He/she must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One (1) year dietary experience is preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

*Must be willing to work every other weekend shifts*

Pay starts at $17/hr. for experience.
