As an Inventory Planner on our team, you will be accountable for setting priorities, working autonomously and independently, and making an immediate impact on the team and the business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day purchasing activities of assigned vendors/categories by initiating and placing purchase orders, work orders, and store transfers.
  • Negotiates terms, conditions, and pricing with our Product Management team with new suppliers, and manages completely with existing suppliers.
  • Determine and maintain the appropriate purchasing parameters (stock levels) for stocked products.
  • Monitor supplier performance and coordinate corrective action for unsatisfactory performance.
  • Support and initiate cost containment and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Contact vendors to ensure timely PO's delivery or advise of changed due dates.
  • Monitor the receipt of incoming materials and follows up on late shipments.
  • Process vendor and warranty returns; follow up with suppliers to ensure proper credit memos/warranty replacements are received.
  • Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with suppliers, salespersons, and other team members throughout the organization.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business, or related field and a minimum of 1 year experience in supply chain, purchasing, or inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan ahead
  • Skilled in IS tools: Excel, SAP, ERP (Epicor or similar)
  • Experience in Planning Software (Slimstock) is a plus
  • CPIM or CSCP preferred
