Job Title: Ophthalmology Assistant Instructor
Summary: Work under supervision to teach assigned courses and provide support to students in assigned programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Teach assigned courses in a hybrid format, including monitoring online activity for students in enrolled courses.
* Create and oversee laboratory days for students in assigned courses.
* Ensure placement of students in externship setting for required course hours, and review paperwork for assigned externships.
* Update and/or create courses in assigned program.
* Monitor students in an online and residential setting for attendance, grades, and other progress indicators.
* Assess student learning
* Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
* Review curriculum and textbooks with other instructors, program managers, advisory board, and school director.
* Monitor TWC, federal and accrediting standards compliance.
* Monitor policy/procedure compliance.
* Assist with student advising
* Other jobs as assigned.
Education/Experience:
* Associates Degree required
* Minimum three years' experience as Ophthalmology Technician, Optometrist, or Ophthalmologist
* Current Certification as an Ophthalmology Technician, Ophthalmology Medical Technician, Optometrist, or Ophthalmologist
* Ability to present a professional image and act as a role model
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to meet deadlines
