Your role at Clorox:
This position develops and assists in the implementation and coordination of policies, procedures, and programs to protect and promote the highest standards of safety and health within the Clorox – Glad Manufacturing facility in Amherst, VA. This position works in close coordination with the Global Safety & Health Team.
In this role, you will:
Operations Support – Provides operational support and analytical problem solving at Clorox – Glad Manufacturing, drawing on internal and external experts as appropriate, managing improvement plans and activities. Ensure practices are in place and standardized to assure that stable conditions exist that ensure safety and health standards are maintained in compliance with local and federal regulations. Manages the plant safety and health audits and support. Ensures documentation adherence and compliance.
People Management and Development – Provides strategic leadership and direction for site safety roles and responsibilities. Identifies current gaps and develops long and short-term plan to serve the plant’s development and future.
Drive Continuous Improvement - Supports the continuous improvement of the safety and health function by identifying and resolving gaps/waste in systems, tools, and processes. Ensures key safety and health processes are effectively managed, standardized, maintained, and continuously improved. Drives commonality of programs and processes.
Strategic Leadership – Provides leadership and direction to help develop the safety and health culture of the manufacturing plant. Establishes credibility and close working relationships with leadership inside and outside the plant.
What we look for:
- 5 years’ experience in Safety and Health roles in industrial/manufacturing environment.
- OSHA trained and/or certified (OSHA 1910)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- ASP certification is highly preferred
- Knowledge and skill in development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs/activities and procedure
- Knowledge and understanding of the OSHA regulations as well as industry standards and best practices in safety and health required
- Ability to interpret standards, regulations and apply the content to operations
- Knowledge of regulatory documentation requirements
- Experience with health and safety management systems (ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001)
- Interpersonal skills to create a safety culture, influence others and be a safety advocate throughout the organization
- Strong problem-solving skills, issue resolution, and root cause analysis
- Strong written and verbal business communication skills
- Strong independent leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills. Proven strong relationship skills to achieve sustainable partnerships and collaboration internally and externally.
- Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills
- Highly Flexible and Adaptable. Able to work independently in a fast-paced multitasking environment

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $84,500 - $158,000
–Zone B: $77,500 - $144,800
–Zone C: $70,400 - $131,700
