GENERAL DUTIES

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Lehman College, the College Laboratory Technician (CLT)

will perform the following:

• Set up and break down all equipment for all physics laboratory classes and for requested lecture demonstrations.
• Maintain, repair, and clean equipment used in assigned labs and Departmental facilities.
• Keep an up-to-date inventory of all lab equipment and determine the need for and manage the acquisition of replacement equipment.
• Maintain clean, orderly, and functional student laboratory spaces.
• Maintain, update, and contribute to the development of student laboratory programs and manuals.
• Train instructors on the proper use of student lab equipment.
• Stand in for absent lab instructors.
• Perform other duties related to and necessary for the safe and efficient functioning of the department as assigned.

The CLT may work nights and weekends on a periodic basis as needed by the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

COMPENSATION

$56,488 -$64,086
