General Description:

The purpose of this class within the organization is to manage recreation programming and facilities in the City of Rock Hill. This class works under direct supervision according to set procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires high school graduation or GED equivalent, or specialized vocational training. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

Valid Driver’s License
NOTE: This position works primarily nights and weekends.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assists with various programs and classes at the Rock Hill Tennis Center; sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, and other equipment; leads activities for the program.
• Takes registration; performs other related duties needed to ensure the success of programs such as after school activities, youth activities, rentals and opening and closing the facility for general public use.
• Coordinates special events with the Rock Hill Tennis Center Supervisor.
• Supervises rentals; assists with the set-up for clubs and organizations; opens and closes the facility.
• Assists Supervisor with set-up; conducts meetings for the Advisory Committee, staff meetings, Parks, Recreation and Tourism safety meetings, Neighborhood Association meetings and various committee meetings as needed.
• Assists in hosting regional, national and international events.
• Compiles daily, weekly, monthly and annual membership, usage and financial reports.
• Provides staff support to various committees, commissions, and other groups as required.
• Participates in cross training opportunities.
• Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge as it relates to areas of programming, customer service, and administration.
• Knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization, and administration.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and technology; knowledge of proper English usage, vocabulary, spelling, and basic mathematics.
• Ability to inspect facilities, grounds, and equipment and make necessary repairs.
• Ability to react calmly and quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to prepare required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations or tight deadlines.
• Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrated appropriate customer service skills.
• Work is performed on site the incumbent must be present at work to perform the essential functions of this job.
