Job Summary:

This is moderately heavy manual work which involves routine housekeeping and domestic tasks of various buildings. Primary responsibilities include the use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and otherwise caring for buildings and equipment.
Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Entry Level Position to show demonstrated proficiency and increasing knowledge of job responsibilities and requirements during the 6-month probation period
• 6 months related experience preferred
• Valid Driver’s License may be required for specific custodian assignment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the materials, chemicals, methods and equipment typically used in janitorial work
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to learn the duties of a custodian
• Ability to understand and follow simple instructions
• Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to cleaning equipment
• Ability to perform heavy manual routine custodial tasks
• Ability to work on ladders and off the ground
