The purpose of this position is to "seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion."

This position exists to act as a working supervisor over gardeners on Church Headquarters campus. Supervision over care of outdoor gardens and installation of Christmas displays for assigned area and provide journey-level gardening expertise, thus creating a beautiful atmosphere for those who come to Church Headquarters, to help the priesthood leaders, temple patrons, visitors, employees and directors in bringing souls to Christ.

• 55% - Supervises and performs grounds maintenance duties such as watering, mowing, trimming, edging, cultivating, weeding, mulching, grubbing, digging, planting, raking, sweeping, litter picking, dividing, and thinning.
• 25% - Supervises and personally installs seasonal displays.
• 5% - Design assistance for seasonal flower beds & Christmas displays.
• 5% - Assists and provides subordinates for greenhouse deliveries and planting.
• 5% - Maintains and controls inventory.
• 5% - Maintains employee schedules.

Bachelor's degree in horticulture preferred or at least 4 years horticulture experience at the Journeyman or Master Gardener level. Previous supervisory experience with ability to lead and train a team of gardeners and volunteers. Must be able to perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on power equipment and sprinkling systems. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and adjust to seasonal needs.
