High School Chemistry/IPC Teacher

We are seeking an individual who has and supports a biblical worldview. Our faculty and staff must have an evidenced walk with God in their daily life, a relationship with Jesus Christ through salvation, and a vibrant, consistent involvement in a Bible-believing church. Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development:

· Develop and implement a challenging and engaging curriculum that aligns with state standards and integrates Christian worldview principles.

· Design hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and activities that facilitate student understanding of chemical concepts and principles.

· Incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance instruction and promote student learning.

2. Classroom Instruction:

· Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate actively in their learning.

· Deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

· Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and promote academic success for all.

3. Spiritual Integration:

· Integrate biblical principles and Christian worldview perspectives into the teaching of chemistry, helping students understand the relevance of faith to scientific inquiry.

· Encourage students to explore the ethical implications of scientific discoveries and engage in discussions about the intersection of science and faith.

· Serve as a role model of Christian character and values, demonstrating love, grace, and integrity in all interactions with students and colleagues.

4. Student Assessment and Feedback:

· Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies, including quizzes, tests, projects, and laboratory reports.

· Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.

· Collaborate with colleagues and parents to address individual student needs and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

5. Professional Development:

· Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in chemistry education through ongoing professional development opportunities.

· Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and instructional strategies for enhancing chemistry instruction.

· Reflect on teaching practices and seek opportunities for self-improvement and growth as an educator.

Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian with a strong personal faith and a passion for integrating faith and learning.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in chemistry or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Teaching certification or licensure in chemistry or secondary science education.
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level, preferably in a Christian school setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and experience conducting experiments in a classroom or laboratory setting.
  • Willingness to support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of The Christian School at Castle Hills

The Christian School at Castle Hills seeks to lead students to know Christ and make Christ known. Our roots and earliest beginnings started in 1961 in the establishment of a private Christian preschool and kindergarten. In 1981, Dr. George H. Harris and a group of interested members of Castle Hills First Baptist Church founded our school. In 1987, we graduated our first class and were accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI). Our current enrollment is approximately 650 students in preschool through 12th grade.
