IMMEDIATE OPENING/PAID TRAINING INDEPENDENT LIVING CASE MANAGER

The Christian Home of Johnstown seeks a responsible candidate to work as an Independent Living Case Manager. Candidates must be compassionate and desire to work with children and their families.

Independent Living Case Managers provide testing, life skills training and support to all eligible youth ages 14-23 referred by the Cambria County Children and Youth Agency.

Case Managers encourage the youth to utilize the skills they have obtained during training to pursue employment and educational goals and work toward a successful transition to self-sufficiency. They are to be available to provide guidance and support throughout this process and encourage all clients to take advantage of the program's aftercare services.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel to the clients' homes, schools, and/or placement facilities weekly and attend all necessary meetings to meet their goals.

Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule and utilize their vehicle to travel to meetings and transport clients. Mileage will be reimbursed.

Requirements include:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalency. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is preferred but not required.
• At least 6 months of direct childcare experience with a degree, or at least 12 months of direct childcare experience without a degree.
• Computer experience in Microsoft 365, Internet, and email or able to be trained.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently with little to no direct supervision.
• Possess reliable transportation
• MUST HAVE A DESIRE TO AND COMPASSION FOR WORKING WITH ADOLESCENT AND OLDER YOUTH.

Applicant must be at least 21 years old, have a valid PA driver’s license, be eligible for FBI, Act 33 & 34 Clearances and be able to complete CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Intervention, and other training.

Pay: From $10.55 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
