• Maintaining a clean, safe and supportive environment for young children
• Assisting teachers with carrying out lesson plans
• Utilizing classroom management and discipline strategies
• Leading a classroom during the after-school program hours
• Helping children use the bathroom or, when necessary, changing diapers
• Handling basic hygiene needs such as hand-washing
• Preparing children for and supervising them during nap-time
• Preparing and serving lunch or healthy snacks
• Participating and helping with parent-teacher conferences as needed
• Supporting teacher with student documentation in the form of narrative writing, photos, reflections, and documentation panels.
• Closing, cleaning, and preparing the room for the following day at the end of each shift.
