Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners and contribute to their educational and social development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Support students with special education needs, including working with children on the autism spectrum
- Provide individualized attention and support to students during classroom activities
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment
- Help supervise students during outdoor playtime and other activities
- Assist with the preparation of materials and resources for lessons
- Contribute to the development of curriculum plans that align with educational standards
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress
Experience:
- Previous experience working in early childhood education or related field preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children
