The Child Center Of NY, Inc. is Hiring a PT After-School Teacher, MS 72 Beacon Community School Near Jamaica, NY
Position Summary
The Teacher is responsible for providing guidance and assistance in several facets of the creation of curriculum; including resource acquisition, coaching, and instructional support with regard to Bell Program.
Essential Functions:
- Provides guidance in development of curriculum.
- Assists in identifying and acquiring lesson resources.
- Observes and coaches Group Leader professionals in establishing best practices.
- Collaborates with Director and school administration to identify appropriate themes and objectives for educational content.
- Aids staff in planning, writing and implementing high-quality, content-rich lessons.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Youth Development, or related field.
- Strong experience with curriculum planning for young people (middle school).
- Knowledge of youth development principles and theories.
- Knowledge of Common Core Standards.
- Experience coaching and training with strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.
