Description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Gaming Business Analyst II to join our WinStar Gaming Business Analytics team located at the WinStar World Casino and Resort.

Summary:


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
  • Analyzes controllable expenses to reduce cost and maximize revenue
  • Makes conclusions and drafts recommendations based on all budgeting and forecasting reports utilized
  • Automates analysis processes with Business Analytics technology to reduce errors and time and eliminate human bias
  • Develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts and tools; analyzes a variety of complex financial data for communication to the management team
  • Perform financial analysis, statistical analysis, variance analysis, trend analysis, feasibility analysis, and scenario analysis
  • Analyzes and identifies inaccuracies as well as variances
  • Prepare budget-to-actual reports for department head review and continuously monitor/analyze reports for potential necessary changes in asset allocation assumptions
  • Establishes and monitors performance against business metrics to assist in understanding operations and make suggestions of how to improve them
  • Highlights, researches, analyzes, and documents unusual/large items, trends, or variances that affect company performance and offers mitigating alternatives
  • Responds to management inquiries about performance or support growth initiatives (new facility expansion, operations optimization, cost/benefit analysis, break-even analysis); researches, analyzes and provides insights to financial and non-financial driver details and outcomes
  • Creates financial forecasts to project the end of month close financial picture to enable management to make critical financial decisions
  • Develops tools for improving the analytics processes and business processes for departments
  • Researches the economic climate to determine the effect that these factors will have on a company’s performance
  • Utilizes business analytics platforms to source data for business and financial analysis
  • Prepare budgets as assigned
  • Maintains, monitors, and collaborates on the annual budget; schedules expenditures; analyzes variances; initiates corrective actions with leadership review
  • Reviews and analyzes operating budgets and costs as well as assists individual department heads to analyze business costs with the result of recommending solutions to impact overall cost and expenses
  • Analyzes reporting data and provides recommendations on how to improve low performing areas and ways to enhance high performing areas. Analysis includes Electronic Games performance, Table Games, Poker, and other gaming performance
  • Monitors and analyzes strategic initiative results developed to enhance revenues and reduce costs in relations to expected performance and actual performance goals
  • Provides recommendations and conducts presentations on how to positively impact business goals and objectives
  • Provides analysis on labor management, key performance indicators, and key volume indicators to assist management with better utilization of labor for business needs
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Possesses working knowledge of applying business analysis and analytics
  • Possesses working knowledge CNDC business operations
  • Ability to understand the correlation of the major financial statements and the fundamentals behind the consolidated values in accordance with GAAP
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as financial ratios, allocations, and other metrics with ease
  • Knowledge of budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes using IBM Cognos tools
  • Ability to multitask
  • Organizes work and assigned area logically and orderly
  • Communicates verbally with team, departments, guests and management
  • Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and management

Experience:

  • 2 years directly related experience

Education:

Essential:
  • High School, GED or Equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree in directly related field

Credentials:

  • Gaming license or permit as required by assigned position
