Position: Grounds Maintenance Technician

Classification: Summer Seasonal, Full-time Hourly

Reports to: Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Basic Functions

Responsible for maintenance of all the grounds owned by the Lenawee Christian Ministries

Responsibilities:

• Maintains safe working conditions and practices
• Must know or learn the proper use of all grounds maintenance equipment
• Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties.
• Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.
• Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Landscape by trimming shrubs, planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
• Weed planting beds and tree rings
• Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
• Sweep walkway of debris.
• Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
• Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
• Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
• Repair and paint/stain picnic tables, benches and playground equipment.
• Drag, line and prep athletic fields
• Removal of garbage, paper, leaves etc. from grounds
• Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments
• Irrigation repairs as directed by maintenance supervisor
• Time management is of high importance
• Be aware of MSDS for products used
• Other duties as directed by the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Qualification:

• Must be willing to adhere to Lenawee Christian Ministries Lifestyle Commitment
• Must have a personal faith in Jesus Christ
• Have 2-3 years’ experience or training or working knowledge in the following areas:
• Lawn Mowing
• Tree Trimming
• Lawn Fertilizing
• Herbicide Application
• Lawn Equipment Care
• Power washing
• Need to be able to carry 50 pounds as needed
