The Center for Discovery is currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist. This position assess communication needs and provide intervention to promote functional independence in the areas of communication and oral-motor control.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Provides evaluation of communication strengths and needs for individuals with developmental disabilities. Provides intervention for each individual, which emphasizes the integration of communication goals into natural environments and functional routines. Incorporates the use of assistive technology into functional programs. Maintains the materials and resources utilized by the communication disorders department. Communicates the observations, concerns and recommendations associated with each individuals communication program. Maintains and updates the professional knowledge base required to carry out the responsibilities of the job. Participates as an active member of the trans-disciplinary team involved in the comprehensive intervention program for each individual. Manages caseload to meet established productivity standards. Provides training and supervision for clinical fellowship year (CFY) speech-language pathologist, speech-language therapy assistants, and clinical interns. Assumes leadership responsibility in specialty areas of treatment practice and administration under the supervision of the Department Chairperson.
