POSITION TITLE:
Behavior Health Technician - ABA
Supervisor: ABA Program Director

JOB SUMMARY:

Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician – Applied Behavior Analysis (BHT-ABA, BHT)

Department: Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS)

Supervisor: ABA Program Director

JOB PURPOSE:

To implement an individualized treatment plan developed by Behavior Analyst (BA), Behavior Consultant – ABA (BC-ABA) or Behavior Consultant (BC).

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Be a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) OR

2. Be a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) OR

3. Be a Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) OR

4. Have a High School Diploma or the equivalent and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer that is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCaBA OR

o If RBT Training is sponsored by the Center for Developmental Disabilities, employees must agree to sign separate BACB Sponsorship/Supervision contract. ***

5. Have a minimum of 2 years experience in providing ABA services minimum and a minimum of a 40-hour training related to ABA, approved by the BACB or the Department as a continuing education provider.

  • Other: Current FBI Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History Check, Valid Driver’s License.
  • Other: Must be able to pass a Pre-employment Physical and Drug Test.

Physical:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl without impairment. The employee must also be able to speak and hear. The employee may need to lift up to 50 pounds and/or move up to 100 pounds in the event of an emergency (i.e. restraint, fire, etc.) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Able to demonstrate skills necessary for the use of passive physical holding of children up to seventeen (17) years of age. Good physical health.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Specific Performance Expectations:

Responsible for providing therapeutic support and appropriate behavioral interventions to children in specified areas of social, behavioral, and emotional domains identified in the client’s individualized treatment plan utilizing ABA techniques as prescribed and other intensive interventions with clients as designed by the BA, Assistant BC-ABA or BC-ABA.

Services can be provided in a staff to client ratio of 1:1and be conducted in a community like setting or be provided individually across the home, school, and or community settings.

Responsible for communicating regularly with the entire treatment team and provide information to team meetings through direct participation or documentation when necessary.

Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate documentation of all interventions by submitting documentation timely and in the agency-approved format. All notes will reflect time, duration, and assessment of progress for each intervention period and include a corresponding encounter form signature to confirm the appointment occurred.

Responsible to follow identified client schedules and communicate modifications or changes to the appropriate administrative and clinical team members within the given timelines.

Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all clients and their families.

Responsible to provide services to children and families in the center base, home, and/or community settings.

Responsible to attend scheduled supervision sessions, staff continuing education training, and other administrative meetings as directed.

Promotes objectives by providing cooperative and courteous service to clients, family members, visitors, and all external customers.

Interacts professionally with ethnically/culturally/spiritually different people in a sensitive and respectful manner.

*** $500 sign on bonus for those that have completed the RBT Training prior to employment***

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
