Ability to speak and understand the English language
Previous Medical Credentialing Experience
Previous Receptionist or Secretarial experience
Strong ethical and moral character references
Computer skills including MS Office, OneDrive, and web-based data management software
We are looking for an experienced Credentialing Coordinator / Administrative Assistant for our multispecialty surgical center in Mountainside, NJ.
General Purpose of Position: Underneath the supervision of the Center Leader, responsible for medical staff credentialing, with cross-training and backup to other functions of the Center including scheduling of surgical procedures, billing/coding/accounts receivable, front desk reception accounts payable records, scheduling Preventative Maintenance for Facility. Promotes a favorable image of the Center to physicians, patients, insurance companies, and the general public.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Actively manage the credentialing database. Import and/or scan files and historical documentation. Contact various medical staff offices and/or providers to follow up on required documentation. Communicate effectively with medical staff and offices throughout the credentialing cycle.
Scan medical records/break down charts
Support Front Office - float as needed for absences
Support Pathology - float as needed for absences: chart assembly, chart transport to Recovery area, reconciliation of lab samples
Responsible for the ordering of office supplies/maintaining inventory
Serves as backup for the coordination of billing/coding/accounts receivable with the billing company or the billing office staff
Serve as backup for completion of E-signing operative reports
Schedule/track Preventative Maintenance
Schedule/track expirations of contracts and center licenses
Track Peer Review documentation: Make copies of medical records, provide to physicians/CRNA, receive back and document completion
Collaborate with Center Leader to obtain physician signatures, pharmacy logs, path logs
Communicate with the corporate accounting department regarding outstanding items
Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
Manage proper submission of documents in a timely fashion
Maintains log of employee expirations, notifies Center Leader/DON
Medical Record Maintenance and Requests
Provides a safe environment for the patient
Regular and predictable attendance
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Attends all required education
