The Coordinator – Prevention Programs’ primary responsibility is to prepare and present educational material on sexual assault and domestic violence prevention within Charlotte County, Florida. The position utilizes both in-person and social networking to assess community needs, seek or develop program material, and to present high impact information to appropriate audiences. The Coordinator also prepares statistical reports on activity and results.
The Coordinator establishes a working relationship with schools and community groups to assure awareness of C.A.R.E. services. The position requires travel within Charlotte County, with an appropriately flexible schedule and paid mileage.
Responsibilities
· Utilize empirically-based educational programs on sexual assault and domestic violence to present prevention curriculum to youth.
· Establish an in-person and social media network to assist in identifying community program needs.
· Develop and present prevention material to appropriate community organizations.
· Seek out contacts with schools and the community to offer presentations and assure awareness of the C.A.R.E. organization.
· Participate in staff meetings, community action teams and other related functions.
· Prepare statistical reports for the Director relating to prevention programs, as requested.
· Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Skills and Related Experience
· The minimum requirements for this position include a high school degree or equivalent; one to two years of directly related experience in a crisis center environment is preferred; a proven ability to assess and set priorities, to maintain consistency of quality/quantity work in reasonable time frames; competent computing skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and general systems such as email.
· The fully qualified requirements for this position include a high school degree or equivalent; three to five years of directly related experience in a crisis center environment is preferred; a proven ability to assess and set priorities, to maintain consistency of quality/quantity work in reasonable time frame; competent computing skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and general systems such as email.
· Additional consideration is given for bi-lingual (Spanish, English) skills.
· This position is independent of close supervision and thus requires a high degree of personal responsibility and integrity.
· This job might occasionally require lifting or moving of objects up to 25 lbs.
