Overview

Catholic University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and the Landmark Conference. As a member of NCAA Division III, the University places the highest priority on the overall quality of the educational experience and the successful completion of the academic programs by student athletes. The assistant women’s lacrosse coach assists with the leadership and directives of an intercollegiate NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse program. Duties include taking a lead role in on field instruction, academic mentoring, personal development, and leadership development of student athletes; working in concert with the head coach to oversee the team's local, domestic, and when applicable international community engagement, service and outreach; and help oversee the planning and implementation of the team's in and out of season travel goals, with an emphasis on cultural engagement and learning. This position will assist in the organization and administration of the team's youth camp and clinical programs. Assists with the management of expenses in operating and fundraising budget, support fundraising efforts for the women’s lacrosse team. Assist with strength & conditioning initiatives, programming, and supervision for the women’s lacrosse program. Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark Conference, regulations, standards and codes. 

Responsibilities

Coaching, Training, Instruction: - Perform as a professional educator and role model to enable individual students to develop as student-athletes and to work together as a successful, competitive intercollegiate team.- Provide practice and game planning, implementation and assessment including but not limited to management of schedules, athletic participation and support services, facilities, marketing, and promotion in close collaboration with other colleagues and service providers in conjunction with the head coach.

Recruitment: Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful academically and by competing in the women’s lacrosse program in conjunction with the head coach.

Camp & Clinics: This position will take a lead role in the organization and administration of the women’s lacrosse clinic program.

Budget Planning, Fiscal Management and Travel Coordination: Assist with sound business and financial management in areas including but not limited to expenses, operating budgets, procurement of goods, services and equipment while also organizing and supervision of all team related travel in conjunction with the head coach.

Academic Oversight: Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-athletes.

Social Media & Content Creation: Lead in the creation of social media content and the management of social media accounts to promote the women’s lacrosse program.

Special Events and Alumni Engagement: Provide support for large departmental and programmatic events (i.e., Senior Athlete Celebration) while also consistently connecting with program and institutional alums to maintain sound relationships between all parties.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and must have proven success coaching at the collegiate and/or club level. Ideal candidate has 2-3 years of coaching collegiate women’s lacrosse. Reasonable knowledge of various social media platforms in order to help promote the women’s lacrosse program and communicate with a wide variety of constituents. Proficiency in computer software applications: Word, Excel, Office, etc.
