Staff Development Coordinator

Come join us at Mount Carmel Care Center! We are a Faith-Based, Non-Profit, boutique-sized Long-Term Care facility (69 beds), nestled in the heart of the Berkshires. Twice voted "Best of the Berkshires," we are sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm since 2013 and maintain a mission-based environment for our staff and residents.

We are looking to hire a Staff Development Coordinator - RN - Registered Nurse - Infection Control Nurse

** Up to $94,000 per year based on skills and experience **

** We pay 80% of health insurance premiums **

** Excellent Staff Retention **

** Earn up to 30 days of PTO **

Staff Development Coordinator - RN - Registered Nurse - Infection Control Nurse Qualifications:

  • Current MA Registered Nurse - RN license.
  • Prior experience as a supervisor/manager in long term care.
  • Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology or Certification of the completion of the "Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course" by CDC.
  • Expertise in DPH regulation, along with excellent communication skills.
  • Current CPR certification.

Staff Development Coordinator - RN - Registered Nurse - Infection Control Nurse Job Summary:

  • Plan, implement, direct, and evaluate the education program based on resident and staff needs, regulations.
  • Coordinate an effective general orientation program for new staff.
  • Plan and publish a monthly in-service calendar.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the infection prevention program.
  • Develop an annual surveillance plan based on the population served, services provided, and analysis of the surveillance data.
  • Arrange opportunities for education programs and staff trainings during the year.
  • Conduct annual competency skills evaluation of nurses.
  • Acts as the liaison between the nursing instructors and students.
  • Compile reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies as required.
