Through the implementation of efficient operational (enhanced SIOP, lean manufacturing, inventory planning, optimization of the distribution network, redesign and value engineering of compounds and products, improved process control, activity based costing, etc.) and intelligent commercial (dynamic pricing and material margin management, new product development, refined channel management, new account conquests, etc.) strategies, the company is targeting improving performance to over 12% EBITDA margins on substantially higher revenue over time. Position Summary:

The Corporate Global Quality department is a diverse organization of scientists, engineers, and supporting staff, whose primary mission is to provide the quality and technology required to support The Carlstar Group’s global businesses. The goal of the Corporate Quality Engineers is to study the variation of plant processes and know the systems capability. The engineer shall also provide support to plants and distribution centers to reduce variation through application of 8D’s, DOEx, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies.

Additionally, the engineers shall develop relationships with customers working closely with them at their plant locations to drive customer satisfaction

This position reports to the Director of Global Quality.

Pivotal Experience and Expertise:

Carlstar seeks a results-oriented, analytical thinker with experience as a multi-disciplinary collaborative solution seeker. This individual will have demonstrated consistency and reliability in managing multiple projects and responsibilities that support quality assurance requirements. The Corporate QE is able to produce data analytics reporting on plant performance, quality methodologies, and initiatives to address system capability.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in quality assurance and using quality tools to solve problems to focus on improving product, process, system and service quality and improve quality indices such as PPM, scrap, First time yield, etc.
  • ASQ Certification -CQE preferred
  • Rubber industry and Metal industry experience, preferred
  • Familiar with developing plant level documentation to support corporate ISO9001:2015 requirements, familiar with Six Sigma, Lean, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, DOEx, 8D’s
  • Assure quality and manufacturing systems within business segments are standardized
  • Improve product and manufacturing process capability to reduce variability in the manufacturing facilities
  • Drive corrective action process via 8D and other similar / applicable tools
  • Technical drawing (GD&T) and CAD/Solidworks experience preferred
  • Conduct proactive and reactive Customer Visits
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
