ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

ABOUT THE COMPANYCamden Center is a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment center that offers comprehensive, multi-disciplinary treatment for psychiatric and addictive disorders. Our staff is comprised of nationally recognized medical doctors, psychotherapists, and integrative medicine specialistswho have been recruited as experts in their field to work with our patients. Camden Center is a medical organization established and operated by physicians, and isfounded on the principles of clinical excellence, compassionate care, and respectfor our patients. 

ABOUT THE POSITIONThe accounting specialist is responsible for complete and accurate financial accounting for Camden Center and its related companies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. 

RESPONSIBILITIESCore duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintain an organized system of all accounts payable and accounts receivable within the companies
  • Reconcile all Quickbooks accounts on a monthly basis
  • Accurately post all expenses to the correct chart of accounts within the Quickbooks systems
  • Enter all patient payments and apply to the correct invoices on a weekly basis
  • Electronically file all vendor invoices to the correct vendor folders with concise labeling
  • Receive and electronically process all physical mail and invoices
  • Print physical check payments using Quickbooks systems
  • Meet with the Chief Executive Officer at least on a weekly basis
  • Communicate with patients, patient’s contacts, and others with the highest level of professionalism
  • Promptly address patients and patient contact’s questions, concerns, and inquiries
  • Communicate with patients and patient’s contacts regarding payments, account balances, and discrepancies
  • Assist with processing payroll and work closely with the human resources department
  • Prepare weekly payment batch through payment gateway each Thursday afternoon
  • Ensure patient invoices are paid timely as required
  • Track patient cancellations and apply credits accurately to the following week’s invoice
  • Process patient and patient contact’s refunds as needed
  • Receive incoming insurance mail, scan, label, and upload all documents completely and accurately
  • Deposit all physical and digital check payments
  • Post insurance payments to patient accounts in the electronic medical billing software
  • Collaborate with the insurance department regularly and ensure information is communicated thoroughly, efficiently, and accurately
  • Assist accountant team as needed
  • Regularly meet with the company’s financial and insurance departments

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to legally work in the United States and provide documentation (2 forms of ID and/or Green Card)
  • Must possess a valid and current form of identification

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer and internet research skills; proficiency in the use of Google Workspace
  • Experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online software or another comparable system
  • Prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain excellent attention to detail
  • Professionalism of the highest caliber in all interactions with patients and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Be open to learning and adapting to new responsibilities
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, and patients
  • Must be able to sit and stand at length (up to 4-hours)
  • Respect for patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws
  • Responsible and trustworthy

32-40 hours/week. Salary is negotiable based on experience. Benefits for full-time employees include medical, paid and sick time off, matching 401(k), holiday pay, and a flexible spending account.
