Job Title: Continuous Improvement Co-Op

Department: Operations

Reports To: Director of Continuous Improvement

Purpose: Support C.I. activities throughout manufacturing

Desired Majors: Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with data analysis of process downtime. Build and present Pareto charts showing top reasons for downtime. Generate monthly downtime summary reports to support targeted improvement actions.
Assist with process improvement teams. Take on short term projects aimed at making lasting improvements to the process equipment. This can include design, fabrication and installation of improvement concepts.
Learn the techniques of process center-lining and develop baseline equipment set-up standards across a variety of machines and processes.
Assist with developing and maintaining a set of visual metrics for each machine to provide operator feedback on Safety, Quality and Productivity
Support and maintain plant-wide label printing equipment

Job Specifications:

5-day work week. Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. Some limited weekend and evening flexibility as needed.

Education/Experience:

No prior co-op experience is necessary. Evidence of reliable prior work experience is beneficial. Ability to work with and learn from others is critical to the success of this position.

2.75 GPA or higher
