The Buckeye Ranch is currently seeking a Group Therapist to join our Residential Art Therapy Program. The Group Therapist - Art Therapy utilizes different art mediums, such as music, drama, fine arts, to run day treatment groups in residential. Job entails preparing and running groups for the nine units once a week. Group focuses on day treatment goals of social skills, psychoeducation, coping skills, and regulating skills utilizing art or varying expressive mediums. Clinician/Therapist is in charge of making sure materials are ordered, cleaning of the rooms, and preparing for groups. ATR or ATR-BC preferred.

Compensation Range:

BSW/ LSW: $48,000 - $58,000

MSW/ LSW: $50,000 - $65,000

Hiring Bonus: $2,500

Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday - Sunday (Exempt)

Location: Columbus, OH

What you’ll do:

  • Meets with individual and groups of students in accordance with individual treatment plans on a scheduled and as needed basis for therapeutic interventions
  • Participates in treatment team functioning by attending meetings as scheduled, providing assessments/evaluations and progress reports, by assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of data base information, treatment goals and objectives and method
  • Assesses behavioral examples, including frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts. Identifies cultural factors that influence strengths, functioning, and family interaction styles
  • Provides written assessments for assigned students with recommendations for treatment plan goals, objectives, and interventions
  • Develops collaborative relationships with providers of services tailored to the needs of culturally diverse healthcare consumers and family members
  • Work with clinicians in leading and/or facilitating therapeutic art activities within treatment houses on a consultative basis.
  • Delivers brief, trauma-informed, problem-oriented treatment for mental conditions or problematic health behaviors
  • Participates in supervisory meetings, in-service training consultation, out-service job related training and assigned client related meetings involving families, external agencies, Ranch programs and continuous Quality Improvement function

Who you are:

  • You have a Bachelors in Social Work; Masters preferred
  • You preferably have previous clinical experience as an Art Therapist, Expressive Arts Therapist, Social Worker, Counselor, or Clinician
  • Active Ohio LSW, LPC, MFT (Required)
  • You have active Ohio Driver’s license
