Overview:

The Product/Design Manager is responsible for managing production and design planning for the production team, as well as managing inventory and raw materials in the Brookwood warehouse.
The Production/Design Manager oversees Craft Enterprise product design and production planning for all studios. This includes working with the design/production team to set annual, monthly, and weekly goals for each of the Citizen craft enterprises. Working closely with the Retail Department, this position is responsible for leading the design/production team in developing an annual new-design plan, developing new technologies, and identifying innovative techniques and equipment to enhance Citizen involvement.
The Production/Design Manager also oversees the ordering, shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials for Brookwood’s craft production. Additionally, this position oversees the receipt, processing, and distribution of all market merchandise from outside vendors to all Brookwood retail locations.
This position is an integral part of the departmental and enterprise budget planning process. It can also include special Brookwood projects as assigned and works to fulfill the Mission by ensuring sustainable operations to generate revenue, support the Citizens programs at Brookwood, and provide meaningful work.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position provides supervision and work direction to the Shipping and Receiving Department staff, as well as design/production staff. The Production/Design Manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Community’s Policy and Procedures Manual. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff; training new and current employees, planning, assigning, and delegating work; conducting annual performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees.
Education/Experience:
The incumbent should possess 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management. The incumbent should have a background in production planning, accounting, and inventory/production software such as Katana, including point-of-sale software. Knowledge of craft production and retail sales experience preferred.
