The Brewster Law Firm (BLF) is a four lawyer, cost-effective, full-service legal practice of high-character, knowledgeable, and experienced lawyers. Our clients are private and family-owned businesses, commercial property owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and insurance companies who trust us to deliver practical legal solutions that set them up for success. We have been serving commercial construction, business, real estate, and insurance defense clients since 1988.
Our three lawyer, friendly firm practices business, construction, and real estate law. The job is 20-30 hours per week. Duties include answering phone, greeting clients and public, running the office calendar, filing, office administration, drafting objections to discovery requests, drafting simple pleadings, preparing trial and hearing notebooks, document management for litigation discovery, preparing notebooks of transactional documents, preparing binders of probate documents prepared in the office, e-filing, e-recording real estate documents, notarizing documents, and document preparation. Must be proficient with Office 365 (Outlook and its calendar, MS Word, and Excel), and Adobe products. Other software applications will be taught during on-the-job training. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, happy, positive attitude, self-starter, who can take instruction and work independently. The candidate should be a team player, problem solver, and have pride in their work and our firm.
Qualifications

- Strong writing skills
- Experience with Westlaw
- Familiarity with Legal drafting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Real estate law
- Premium skills in contract, personal injury, and UCC law would be a plus
- Ability to review and summarize medical records, and understand basic transaction documents like promissory notes, and deeds
- Experience with customary Paralegal tasks
- Attention to detail for proofreading and transcription tasks
- Strong organizational skills for data entry, filing, and administrative tasks
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
