The Boelter Companies, Inc. is Hiring a Maintenance 2nd Shift - Controls Technician Near Toledo, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:Will support maintenance and manufacturing with all machine controls issues. This is a problem solving position, to be successful one must utilize schematics, test meters, automation software, maintenance logs and equipment vendor resources to resolve the issue. The Controls Technician will be a resource for product design engineering, such as building or modifying equipment that requires PLC programming, installation of new sensors and small circuit design. This is a hands-on position where most of the day can be spent on the manufacturing floor troubleshooting or improving machine performance.The associate will embody and execute our company core values within all day-to-day duties and responsibilities: We work as a team, leveraging our collective strengthsWe are passionate, bringing resiliency, creativity and gritWe do what’s right with honesty, respect and accountabilityWe are reliable, through innovative and streamlined processesWe have fun, celebrating successes and learning from failuresWe build relationships, helping our colleagues and customers thrive ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Troubleshoot and repair drives, electrical control problems on a variety of machinesUse a laptop and various software programs to communicate and program machinesMake minor revisions to HMI screen, PLC’s or write complete , programs from scratch (usually micrologix), and design / build control circuits.Make adjustments to controls or upgrade as neededMaintain a spare parts inventoryMust be familiar with and follow the National Electrical CodeAdditional responsibilities may be added when necessary and qualifiedConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies needed to accomplish the jobMaintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsMust be able to work for long periods of time without supervision if neededEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Proficient in programming Allen Bradley PLC’sThe ability to design basic electrical control circuits utilizing PLC’s, sensors, drives, etc.The ability to read and use machine electrical schematics and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot problems or make process improvement revisionsExperience with a variety of machine controls softwareThe ability to take training classes and become proficient in the operation of new automation controls components, robotics and vision systemsMinimum of an Associate Degree in Industrial Automation, Controls, or appropriate certifications. Equivalent experience will be considered.Minimum of 2-5 yrs experience working with Industrial Automation Machine Controls
