The Blanchard Institute is Hiring a Recovery Connector - Part time Near Charlotte, NC

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Connector to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Recovery Connector, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from mental health challenges and substance abuse. The Recovery Connector is responsible for several key functions that support and impact the clinical program and client experience. Most importantly, this role promotes connection and inspires hope. They offer a level of acceptance, understanding, and validation by sharing their own lived experience and practical guidance. Recovery Connectors inspire clients to develop their own goals, create strategies, and take concrete steps toward building fulfilling and self-determined lives without the use of substances.

A Recovery Connector inspires hope that people can and do recover while providing a safe, secure, and connected environment. They walk with clients on their recovery journeys and dispel myths about what it means to have a mental health or substance use disorder. The recovery Connector provides links to people, resources, and tools that support the client in their recovery journey. They are recovery-oriented, people-centered, relationship-focused, and provide trauma-informed care.

HOURS: M, T, TH 4:30pm-9:30pm

AGE/PATIENT POPULATION(S) SERVED:

Age of Patient Population Service: Adult (18 & older)

Population Served: Persons meeting criteria for substance use disorders with or without co-occurring psychiatric illness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conducts first-day onboarding.

2. Conducts Friday new client orientation.

3. Front desk coverage as needed.

4. Assist with vitals, POC, UDSA, and BAC screenings.

5. Set up, clean up and reset the room for Pass down, training, groups, lectures, and contractors (yoga, nutrition, art)

6. Clean up and wipe down group rooms and manage cleaning logs.

7. Provides IT/Tech support to the lecturer.

8. Assists with enforcing client policies and procedures, such as designated smoking areas and cell phone use.

9. Assist client to and from appointments – Medical and UDS Lab

10. Co-host groups

11. EMR data entry

12. Log census

13. Assist in clerical duties such as making copies, keeping logs up to date, manage clinical resources and videos.

14. Manage Biosound Services – take clients on and off, learn different settings, educate clients and staff on Biosound capabilities.

15. Keep track of clients and update/communicate with the clinical staff.

16. If necessary, spend time with the client gathering information and/or de-escalating in crisis intervention.

12. Stays current with new advances in SUD and Mental health Treatment through seminars, conferences, and continuing education classes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Understands the guidelines for HIPAA, Code of Ethics, and Joint Commissions standard as they apply to client confidentiality and standard of care.

2. Ability to monitor client’s progress by meeting regularly making recommendations and setting goals based on client needs.

3. Knowledge of routine drug testing procedures and ability to recognize potential relapse situations.

4. Competent at maintaining weekly progress reports on all clients within his/her caseload.

5. Effectively communicates with the Clinical Team to assure a smooth transition to the TBI recovery management program from other TBI programs.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree

2. Computer proficiency

3. Have a minimum of 1 year of sobriety

4. Experience in the behavioral health field

5. Life experience of mental health and/or substance use disorder.

6. Required to maintain CPR certification.

7. Required to obtain CPSS.

8. Required to obtain CADC-I

HOURS: M, T, TH 4:30pm-9:30pm
