Founded in 1909 and affiliated with the Episcopal Church, The Bishop’s School is an independent, coeducational college-preparatory day school for 800 students in grades six through twelve located on a historic campus in the heart of La Jolla, just 10 miles north of downtown San Diego. With a student-teacher ratio of approximately 9 to 1, Bishop’s is known for academic, artistic, and athletic excellence while celebrating character development, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Position Summary Description
The Bishop’s School seeks a full-timeMiddle School Humanities Teacher beginning August 2024. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching English and history as well as a strong foundation in developmentally appropriate teaching strategies for middle school students. In addition to classroom teaching, this position will serve as an advisor to a group of sixth grade students. We seek candidates who are enthusiastic to participate on a grade-level team that facilitates collaboration with other sixth grade teachers and advisors to support students and to design aligned curriculum across the grade level.
