RESTEM & TheBioBox, LLC are engaged in the discovery and development of cell-based therapeutics and tools that aid in the treatment of human degenerative disorders. We have two business units, TheBioBox, which is focused on research & development within our platforms of cell-based therapeutics, and RESTEM, our clinical arm which is seeking to advance our patented cell-based technologies for potential therapeutic applications.

JUNIOR SCIENTIST

Job Description

  • Title: Junior Scientist
  • Reports to: Chief Development & Science Officer
  • Employment Type: Full Time/Salary
  • Travel: 0-10%

The candidate selected for the Junior Scientist position will be involved in projects aimed at the identification, validation, and characterization of potential biological tools and therapeutic targets. The ideal candidate will have a broad interest and experience focused on cell biology and the translation of cell-based technology for drug discovery and therapeutic application. The candidate will be required to conceive, design, implement, and oversee a range of cell-based assays. Familiarity with approaches to isolate and characterize primary cells from human tissues is preferred. The successful candidate should have a strong interest in cell discovery and in translating pharmacological insights to in vivo models of disease. The candidate will be required to work independently while coordinating activities with supervisor and managing several concurrent projects. The candidate will also be required to advise and consult with other scientists in R&D as well as outside collaborators.

Position Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a basic science (pharmacology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology) or M.D.
  • 3 years practical academic and industry experience combined
  • Practical and demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: pharmacology, molecular biology, enzyme assays, cellular biology, model development
  • The ability to accomplish company milestones set forth
  • Working knowledge of standard analytical and statistical principles
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and in a team environment
  • Ability to perform supervisory duties and willingness to train and mentor junior team members
  • General understanding of cGMP, GLP and GTP
  • Understanding of sterile techniques
  • Proficient in word, excel, and PowerPoint.
