As an Intern, Design Coordinator you will model and analyze new and existing 3-dimensional models to provide TBG’s customers with point-of-sale fixtures that exceed customer expectations while working with the Principal Designers. This role requires working knowledge and experience with 2-dimensional drawings and 3-dimensional modeling software. The Design Coordinator will work together with Designers, Product Development, Engineers, and Sales teams, as well as other departments required to design and craft customer fixtures. This position is aware of critical paths to ensure customers’ timelines are consistently met.

Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (hybrid work environment between office and remote working locations)

Compensation: Hourly

A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you:

  • are working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, plus a 1 years of related software experience utilizing SolidWorks, Keyshot, Cinema 4D, 3dsMax, SketchUp, and PC/Mac equipment
  • have some experience in retail design with a minimum of 1 years experience in industrial engineering of displays/signs 
  • have experience and knowledge of production processes and working within a team of cross-functional professionals 
  • provide a strong portfolio and have an elevated sense of spatial visualization, design, 3-D, and layout required 

On top of that you must:

  • be productive while using programs such as SolidWorks, Keyshot, Cinema 4D, 3dsMax, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • read and understand fixture construction drawings and shop drawings 
  • have a basic understanding of fixture manufacturing 
  • have a basic understanding of typical fixture materiality such as wood, acrylic, metal, plastics, and paper

In this position, you will:

  • support designing retail fixtures and displays using 2D/3D modeling software utilizing SolidWorks, Cinema 4D, 3dsMax, and SketchUp to create and modify overall designs for displays, cabinets, and other fixtures as required
  • research and recommend new trends and new materials being utilized to stay on-trend with designs for displays, and merchandising leveraging new mediums and/or materials
  • maintain a diligent and self-directed approach to workload, and provide accurate and timely communication to partners 
  • support the Design team in developing own brand concepts which includes product/trend research, color, professional presentation boards/materials and initial design product designs
  • execute illustrations and 3D renderings for presentations
  • complete miscellaneous projects as assigned by management
