Job Description/Responsibilities All employees of The Bardstown Bourbon Company must have the following characteristics:
- Appreciate and provide excellent customer service.
- Comfortable interacting daily with distillery customers as well as tour groups and guests in a hospitality focused environment
- Excellent Team Player
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Bardstown Bourbon Company’s water reclamation facility, the routine, the preventative, and the exceptional
- Maintains equipment pertinent to WRF operations including but not limited to:
- DAF (dissolved air floatation) skid
- Screw press.
- Pumps and pump motors and tank aeration/agitation equipment (blowers)
- Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR)
- Monitoring equipment (pH probes, level transducers, flow meters, etc.)
- Equalization Tank (EQ) and Finished Water Tank (FWT)
- Valves and Piping
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues or malfunctions with facility equipment, including but not limited to the above
- Ability to use and maintain laboratory equipment.
- General understanding of laboratory procedures and sanitary best practices
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions as well as procedure manuals.
- Must be able to read, analyze, and record data.
- Must be able to visually inspect equipment for compliance with SOPs and other safety standards.
- Commitment for the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Previous experience in water treatment/management is preferred.
- Basic computer skills including Excel.
- A valid Kentucky driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong background in basic plumbing
- Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- This job will require multiple hours of standing/sitting/walking in performance of duties. Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee will be required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will occasionally be required to climb or balance.
- Ability to lift fifty pounds from floor to shoulder and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- The employee must be able to physically navigate around a plant/production environment, including the repetitive climbing of stairs and elevated walkways.
- Must not be afraid of working heights and be able to ascend and descend ladders and operate aerial lifts, as needed.
- Must be able to complete job duties in a variety of environmental conditions.
