Position: Assistant Bottling Operations Manager

Shift: Monday – Thursday, PM Shift 4 P.M. to 2 A.M., Fridays as required.

Pay Status: Salaried

Job Summary

The Assistant Bottling Operations Manager plays a versatile role in supporting the bottling and processing department by stepping in to fulfill various responsibilities when regular supervisors are absent. This role involves ensuring on-time production, maintaining quality standards, and upholding safety regulations. The Assistant Bottling Operations Manager is responsible for supervising and training employees, managing resources, leading new initiatives, and driving efficiency and productivity. Additionally, they will ensure accurate record-keeping and support the company's commitment to quality and safety.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Provide backup support to supervisors in the bottling and processing department during their absences.
  • Step in to maintain production schedules, ensure equipment operation, and oversee tasks in the absence of regular supervisors.
  • Adapt to various roles within the department to ensure seamless operations.
  • Direct and lead a team to ensure on-time production and delivery when regular supervisors or employees are absent.
  • Train and guide employees on bottling and processing equipment to achieve and exceed production efficiency standards.
  • Maintain high employee morale and positive relationships during times of absences.
  • Execute production schedules and allocate daily processing operator roles and assignments when needed.
  • Oversee all aspects of production, including loading and unloading bulk containers, managing barrel handling, and processing work orders during employee absences.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements for barrel and bulk harvesting in the absence of regular employees.
  • Suggest and implement improvements in the batching process as required.
  • Maintain accurate records, including processing work orders, gauge readings, and product amounts during employee absences.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, bill of materials, monthly inventory requirements, and regulatory guidelines in the absence of regular employees.
  • Follow all Company, EPA, and safety regulations and policies.
  • Assist with calculating product batch amounts and communicate the information to processors when regular employees are absent.
  • Uphold machines and equipment in good repair during absences.
  • Recommend new initiatives, changes or improvements in methods, equipment, handling, or layout as needed.
  • Manage label room activities and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Set delivery schedules for materials and maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Communicate relevant information between the lab and other personnel as necessary.
  • React to production schedule changes in an organized fashion.
  • Generate work orders and instructions, including blending percentages and required barrels when regular supervisor is absent.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as run-time efficiency and change-over times when regular employees are absent.
  • Approve timecards and vacation requests for employees in regular supervisors’ absence.
  • Support ISO program compliance, including the quality and food safety of products during supervisor absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, especially when regular supervisors are absent.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a leadership role.
  • Have High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Have experience in team-based manufacturing environment
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have strong math, analytical & counting skills
  • Have computer skills

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to stand; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must be able to work in high temperature environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis from floor to shoulder level
  • Must be able to physically navigate around a plant/production environment, including the repetitive climbing of stairs and elevated walkways.
  • Talk and hear clearly
