Summary of position:
The MassNFCA Program Manager will lead efforts to grow and sustain the foster care alumni network in Massachusetts. Ideally, the Program Manager will have lived experience in foster care, offering both lived and professional expertise to this work. The MassNFCA Program Manager is a young, non-profit organization, with aspirations to achieve operational independence with the support of staff, the Board of Directors, Department of Children and Families, foster care alumni, and other partners.
The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing board governance, financial performance, organizational mission and visibility, administrative operations, programs and events, and fund development. Additional responsibilities include completion of National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) surveys in partnership with DCF and staff. The Program Manager will be an enthusiastic leader who shares power with foster care alumni to develop engaging events, impactful partnerships, and meaningful relationships through community. The Program Manager will provide coaching and supervision to staff members, interns, and program volunteers.
Essential duties:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of MassNFCA.
- Provide coaching and supervision to staff members, interns, and program volunteers.
- Maintain financial performance and fiscal integrity.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Department for Children and Families.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to design and implement the organization’s strategic goals.
- Promote the visibility of MassNFCA through strategic partnerships and community outreach.
- Fund development and program expansion.
- Work closely with DCF staff to complete NYTD surveys.

Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- Experience with non-profit operations, program operations, fiscal oversight, community organizing, advocacy, positive youth development and/or foster care alumni relations.
- Experience coaching and supervising staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Experience guiding the work of a Board of Directors or as a member of a Board.
- Experience planning and executing on-line and in-person events, webinars, training sessions.
- Ability to manage several projects at once: effective time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Training:
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Canva, Zoom and social media platforms.
Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
- Ensure confidentiality and a high level of customer service in all interactions.
- Commitment to working in an integrity driven environment, demonstrating consistency in cultural humility, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
