Summary of position:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
Manville School, a highly successful and reputable educational program, is seeking a Middle School Educational Coordinator for the upcoming school year. As a member of a three-person, multidisciplinary managerial team, the Educational Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Middle School at Manville (grades 7/8). The Educational Coordinator works with special education teachers and assistant teachers to design and provide educational services to students on IEPs. The Educational Coordinator is responsible for curriculum selection and development and provides direct supervision and observation to teachers in their planning and implementation. The Educational Coordinator supports teachers in the development of IEPs and conducts formal academic achievement evaluations as part of re-evaluation. The Educational Coordinator receives direct supervision by the school principal.

Essential duties:
  • Function as part of a management trio, responsible for the overall functioning of Manville's Middle School, including staffing/hiring, professional communication, and supervision.
  • Supervision of classroom teams (special education teacher, assistant teacher, classroom behavior specialist) in the areas of curriculum development, classroom organization, and classroom management.
  • Provide observation, supervision, and evaluation to special education teachers and assistant teachers.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development of the IEP process for all students enrolled in Middle School.
  • Perform academic achievement testing in alignment with three-year re-evaluation cycles.
  • Participate in school admission process.
Qualifications
Education:
  • M. Ed or M.S. Ed. in Special Education or related educational field
Experience:
  • 5 years of teaching experience with social/emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges; 2 years of supervisory experience
Training:
  • Certification in Moderate Special Needs, K-8 or 5-12 required.

Logistics
License/Certification: M. Ed or M.S. Ed in Special Educations or related field
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000
