The Baker and The Cakemaker, Inc. is Hiring a Barista Near Auburn, CA

The Baker and the Cakemaker is a locally owned artisan bread bakery and café offering fresh farm-to-fork products, artisan breads, pastries and cakes. We are committed to promoting from within, from entry level up to management.

We are expanding and looking for baristas! Tuesdays through Saturdays are required. Shifts include early mornings. No evenings, and every Sunday and Monday off.

The proper candidate for this role will share our enthusiasm for creating high quality products, and will be committed to our culture of teamwork, creativity, and love of good food! This person will provide friendly, professional service delivering with a warm, upbeat presence.

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience, connecting with guests to deliver quality coffees, specialty beverages, pastries, and other food items.
  • Execute food and beverage processes, including food running, replenishment, pulls, stocking, and inventory rotation as needed.
  • Ensure pastry case is well-stocked and presentable.
  • Maintain a clean, inviting dining area for guests.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
  • Using proper equipment and proper training, follow established policies and procedures.
  • Perform cleaning tasks following duty rosters and cleaning standards to maintain the high appearance and sanitation standards of the cafe and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • Any combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously while serving customers.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays. But no evenings, Sundays or Mondays!
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members.
  • Strong willingness to learn with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work quickly, cleanly and efficiently in this fast-paced and exciting environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be punctual.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and stand for long periods.
