The Austen Riggs Center Inc is Hiring a Director of Referral Relations Near Stockbridge, MA

Description

The Austen Riggs Center seeks an energetic, outgoing Director of Referral Relations who is passionate about helping patients find meaningful success when other mental health treatments have not worked.

This full-time position will be responsible for supporting ties with existing referral sources and looking for innovative ways to create new relationships. Reporting to the Director of Communications, and in partnership with the Admissions and Clinical staff, members of the Erikson Institute, and the Medical Director/CEO, this role is perfect for an individual who wants to be an active partner in developing and executing strategic approaches to amplify the Center’s reputation and support its mission.

The successful candidate will have expertise in referral relations; is familiar with the mental health care industry; and can speak to the unique approach Austen Riggs Center takes to treat our patients. Additionally, this person must have both the interest and ability to travel regularly, mainly in the Northeast, but occasionally in other parts of the nation.

The success of this role will be measured by the generation of admission inquiries from or on behalf of patients who are clinically appropriate for the type of care that Riggs provides and who have the time and resources to engage in Riggs treatment for an extended period.

 Qualifications:

  • Master’s level or higher.
  • 5 years experience working in mental health care, either in a clinical or marketing relations role.
  • Must be comfortable speaking in public, to constituents of all levels of education and experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to referral sources, conferences, and events.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and trust.
  • Familiar with or quickly able to develop familiarity with the Riggs treatment model.
  • Proficient in computer systems and tracking of expenses and time.
  • Ability to work on site at the Center’s location in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and remotely when traveling.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, preferably Salesforce, or the ability to learn quickly how to use them.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel etc.

Requirements

  • Serve as the Center’s lead representative to maintain and grow relationships with existing sources of patient referrals.
  • Serve as the lead representative to initiate and build relationships with new sources of patient referrals.
  • Serve as the lead representative to coordinate and run virtual meetings and in-person visits to the Center, with referral sources.
  • In collaboration with the Communications Director and Medical Director/CEO, work to define, evolve, and evaluate the business development strategy.
  • Identify and create opportunities to amplify the Center’s reputation and reach through initiatives that could include organizing listening tours with select behavioral health care groups and institutions and establishing groups such as a national clinical advisory council.
  • In coordination with the marketing team and other departments at Riggs, identify and attend events, conferences, exhibitions, and other opportunities as a representative of the Center, and liaise with potential referral sources.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with staff from throughout the Center to have a full understanding of the working model at Riggs; to ensure current organization work is represented in outreach activities; and to keep internal staff informed of outreach initiatives.
  • Ensure that data corresponding to engagement and referral sources is maintained in an accurate and timely manner. Partner with the communications team to develop metrics around outreach efforts and the tools needed to track them, especially pertaining to the relationship between engagement efforts and incoming referrals.
  • Remain current with industry standards and leading-edge work in the mental health field. Can speak comfortably and confidently to the unique role Riggs plays in the industry.
  • Track expenses, working hours, and travel records in a timely manner in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on matters pertaining to patient privacy.
